In older apartment buildings, ventilation generally occurs through exhaust ducts from the kitchen and bathroom/toilet via natural ventilation. These ducts are often constructed from concrete blocks and mortar.

Typically, these exhaust ducts have never been cleaned, resulting in poor ventilation, high humidity in the apartments, especially in bathrooms/toilets, and dirt falling into kitchens, causing inconvenience to residents.

A sensible time to clean exhaust ducts is during roof renovation/replacement, energy optimization of the property, or in connection with kitchen and bathroom/toilet renovations.

According to fire regulations, extractor hoods with built-in motors and exhaust fans in bathrooms/toilets should not be connected.

Duct Sealing

At KRS, duct sealing is also one of our specialties, used where mineral wool is released from silencers, cabinets, or internally insulated ducts, releasing mineral wool particles into the indoor environment.

This causes irritation in the airways, mucous membranes, and eyes.

The product used for sealing has the property that it never dries out once applied to the mineral wool and is temperature neutral.

The major benefit of duct sealing is that, instead of replacing expensive ventilation components, the inside of the duct can be sealed.

Often, replacement is nearly impossible due to the construction of the ventilation system, as the placement in the building often requires the dismantling of many other installations before replacement can be initiated.

Such an operation is obviously costly.

The duct sealing is emission and odor-free.
